CNC Field Service Technician - Northeast Region
Mathews Machinery Solutions LLC (MMS) is a rapidly growing CNC service and support company specializing in precision grinding and turning equipment. We provide expert service and technical support for leading European and Swiss machine tool brands including Kellenberger, Studer, Voumard, Usach, Supertec, and Hauser. We are seeking an experienced CNC Field Service Technician to support customers throughout the Northeast region (primarily Pennsylvania and New York). This position is ideal for a self-motivated professional with strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills who enjoys travel and direct customer interaction.
Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CNC grinding and turning equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, servo, spindle, and PLC-related issues.
- Perform preventive maintenance and machine alignments.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
- Provide clear service documentation and communication with customers.
- Travel throughout the Northeast region (estimated 60-80% travel).
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of CNC troubleshooting and repair experience.
- Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills.
- Experience with grinding or precision machine tools preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
- Knowledge of PLC systems and CNC controls (Fanuc experience a plus).
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively.
Education
Preferred: Associate degree in Electronic Technology, Machine Tool Technology, Mechatronics, or related field. Equivalent experience will be considered.

CNC Field Service Technician (Entry-Level / Trainee) - Northeast Region

We provide expert service and technical support for leading Domestic, European, and Asian machine tool brands including Kellenberger, Studer, Voumard, Usach, Supertec, Palmary, Okamoto, and Hauser. We are seeking motivated recent graduates to join our team as an entry-level CNC Field Service Technician supporting customers throughout the Northeast region (primarily Pennsylvania and New York). This is a fast-track role designed for someone early in their career who has a strong technical foundation and wants to get into the field quickly. You will start with focused, hands-on training and ride-alongs with senior technicians, with the goal of building you into a productive, customer-billable technician as quickly as your skills allow. This position is ideal for a hands-on problem solver with solid mechanical and electrical fundamentals who enjoys travel, learning new systems, and working directly with customers.
Responsibilities
- Train alongside senior technicians to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CNC grinding and turning equipment, then take on service work independently as you ramp up.
- Build diagnostic skills across mechanical, electrical, servo, spindle, and PLC-related systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance, machine alignments, and routine service calls.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
- Document service work clearly and communicate professionally with customers.
- Travel throughout the Northeast region (this role is travel-intensive).
Qualifications
- A genuine interest in CNC machinery, precision equipment, and hands-on technical work.
- Foundational mechanical and electrical knowledge from coursework, labs, or projects.
- Basic ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
- Exposure to PLC systems, CNC controls, or machine tool concepts is a plus (Fanuc experience is a bonus, not required).
- Strong communication skills and a customer-first attitude.
- Reliability, curiosity, and a willingness to travel extensively.
- Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and a reliable personal vehicle (mileage reimbursed).
Education
Required: Associate degree (or in-progress completion) in Engineering Technology, Electronics Technology, Machine Tool Technology, Mechatronics, or a related field from a community college or technical program. Relevant internships, co-ops, or shop experience are a plus.
